When it comes to dieting or improving your health, many people turn to fasting. Whether it's to lose weight or reset your body, fasting can be a great way to boost your health in many areas of your body, and it comes with many benefits. But what is it? And how can you get started with it?

Today, we'll discuss intermittent fasting, what it is, and how you can get started easily without putting too much stress on yourself.

What is fasting?

First off, what is fasting? In simple terms, intermittent fasting is when you go a certain period of time without eating. Of course, everyone does this to a degree naturally, such as in the gaps between lunch and dinner or when you're sleeping. But taking fasting to the next level is when you will see the most benefit. The includes benefits for your health, muscle building, fat loss, hormone health, metabolic health, and more.

How do you start?

The art of intermittent fasting produces many results by going into a time-restricted window where you pick the time of day you will eat your daily amount of calories and stick to it. The easiest way to start this is to do what I call the 16/8. For this, you'll do 16 hours where you fast and 8 hours where you can eat your calories for the day. This may sound like a lot, but it's actually a lot easier than you think, as most of your fasting will be done when you sleep.

As a beginner, there is no right or wrong way to do this. Some people prefer to eat a later breakfast, while others prefer an earlier dinner. If you choose to have a late breakfast, you likely won't have breakfast until mid-day. If you decide to have an early dinner, you'll eat several hours earlier than usual.

Either way, once you start eating for the day, your meals must be consumed within 8 hours from that point. Once the 8 hours are up, you finish eating for the day and move back to the 16-hour fasting window.

To sum up, it doesn't matter what times you eat as long as you eat all of your meals within those 8 hours and fast for the other 16.
